Who Rocks?…I Rock!

who.jpg

I’ve been jonesing on The Who lately…I just bought their Ultimate Collection on CD to replace the copy that I had on cassette tape…Yes, we go back a long time, me and The Who.  But anyways, I think I will add a new feature to the ol’ blog here:  Todd’s Featured Air Guitar Riff of the Week!  i doubt that I do this every week, but the riff that has been on my mind lately is “The Seeker” and it sounds a little something like this:

Buh-dah dun dun…da dun dun bun-nah (repeat 3x)

Dah-dun!

Dah-dun! (drum fill then repeat all)

As you can obviously tell…this song rocks!

A little bit of Who trivia…Pete Townsend has long sought to educate musicians on the dangers of hearing loss due to his own poor hearing, but few people know that during a performance of “My Generation” on The Smothers Brothers Show (I think), Keith Moon loaded his bassd rum with an explosive and set it off while the band was going through its signature “let’s-destroy-our-instruments-at-the-end-of-the-song” bit.  Pete just happened to be standing there and this probably set his hearing loss off to a fast start.

As always…feel free to tell us what you’ve been jamming out to lately.

  1. I have been enjoying the smooth sounds of Bill Withers lately. Ain’t no sunshine when she’s gone…I Know I Know I Know I Know I Know I Know I Know I Know I Know I KnowI Know I KnowI Know I KnowI Know I Know I Know I Know I Know I Know I Know I Know I Know I Know……

  2. Just leave one(?) thang alone…ain’t no sunshine when she’s gone…bah dum dum dum…

    Bill Withers IS silky-smooth…

  3. Since the Texas Mobile doesn’t have a CD player, I’m stuck listening to Top 40 too much, so the song that is being played over and over again is “To the Left,” or something like that by Beyonce Knowles.

  4. Christmas with the Rat Pack. The soothing sounds of Dino, Sammy, and the Chairman of the Board. And of course, I have been listening to so other christmas music as well.
